Waubonsee professor Lawler publishes novel, runs for D-302 board seat

SUGAR GROVE – Aaron Lawler has a lot going on in his life right now. He’s a professor, a newly published author and he hopes to add "school board member" to his resume after the April 4 election. Lawler has been an educator for 15 years in a number of different roles and schools, but now he's a full-time humanities professor at Waubonsee Community College.

“I like learning about different people and cultures – their stories, music, art literature, the science about them,” Lawler said. “I like to survey everything about them. I don’t like to dig deep into one thing, but [rather] learn a lot about everything. That started at a young age for me and [it's] what drove me to this particular subject matter.”

In his spare time, he’s always had time to write. As a young child, his mother would tell him stories and taught him how to tell stories... continued here
